Also, Justin LaBlanc, who is incredibly inspiring and has an awesome design aesthetic. Mondo, I mean, who doesn't love him? His ability to mix and match prints and textures was really inspiring to me. I have always admired his vision and will never forget his runway show. But I was there to have fun, put my best foot forward and roll with the punches. The time constraints were insane, much more then I thought. Living with strangers was horrifying at first, but the bond you leave with is incredible. Tim is simply incredible, and the crew was amazing. The judges are wonderful and gracious about feedback and advice. For me- someone who had a business, team/staff, and is managing all of that every day-it was so exciting to have this experience. It was way beyond what I thought it would be, in the absolute best of ways. Well, I submitted on the last day, and the day after my friends all told me they forgot to submit. It was exciting to think that we might all end up on it together. One night, my friends from grad school and I were talking and thought it would be fun if we all applied. We manufacture everything inside the atelier, so we are San Francisco-made and proud! We have an e-commerce shop at, with the entire collection. My line is a bit newer for San Francisco, though it does sell a lot on the East Coast. I love designing with color, just not wearing it. As someone with ADD, color used to distract me-and still does. Button-downs, v-necks, pants are usually what you'll catch me in. I don't wear a lot of designer clothes, and I don't want to be overwhelmed by what I'm wearing. As a designer, I want women to feel beautiful and be able to make my pieces their own.īasic/classic. I have always been inspired by strong confident women and have been surrounded by them my entire life. I love the ability to mix and match, and design great prints and timeless silhouettes that have a touch of edginess to them. My design aesthetic is modern tailoring with a touch of dark, elegant whimsy. It's the best of both worlds to be trained in business and creative studies. I also received the title of Business Scholar through the Babson College and Goldman Sachs' 10KSB Initiative (Ten Thousand Small Businesses) program in Boston. I received my Bachelors and Masters of Fine Art at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Thank you, San Francisco for being such an incredible city!
